Professor Kate Mansfield, a part-time Coral Bay resident, and Director of the University of Central Florida Marine Turtle Research Group has written to the NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service (“NMFS”) Protected Resource Division regarding impacts to endangered sea turtles from the proposed Summers End marina.

Dr. Mansfield’s letter identifies specific impacts to habitat and individuals, and strongly advises for “formal consultation” under Section 7 of the federal Endangered Species Act.
